There are moments in life when we are challenged - what really defines us though, is the way we bounce back from adversity.
The biggest hurdle we have when it comes to bouncing back? Our brains are wired to focus on the negative! No wonder life can be so challenging! In this session we will explore the negativity bias of our brain. Why does our brain highlight the negative in life and how can we incorporate mindfulness practices to enhance the positive and create RESILIENCE. We’ll breakdown the three main ways to be more resilient, so we can not only experience challenges with more ease, but learn from them as well.
This session will include a breakdown of the how’s and why’s of mindfulness including one minute experiences of practice so attendees will walk away with the knowledge of how to practice themselves!

The term self-care is thrown around a lot but what does it actually mean (most importantly) to YOU?
In this interactive session participants will take time to focus on their own care and well-being.
What's working well? Where could you use some support?
We'll dig into these questions and more to help set you up to support yourself. Self-care is a buzzword, but it doesn't have to be complicated and can focus on what you ENJOY.
Participants will:
· Create their own definition of what self-care means to them.
· Evaluate their own self-care in 5 categories: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and relational.
· Decide on a focal point for their self-care in the coming weeks/month.
· Learn some simple self-care activities that can support well-being.
· Learn a simple research-based process to set a self-care goal that is more likely to make the behavior stick.
· Evaluate barriers to their self-care behaviors and create a plan for success. -
It can be easy to forget that mental health, just like our physical health, is a spectrum! We can thrive or we can struggle.
In this interactive session you'll learn how practicing mindfulness can help to manage two of the major threats to your mental health: stress and anxiety, and develop a sense of inner calm, no matter what life throws at you. You'll also learn how to increase the frequency of an optimistic state of mind - a true sign of mental health.
You'll practice a simple technique that can actually promote optimism as well as offer us perspective during the most difficult times we navigate in our lives.
